August 7, 2010 As summer is winding down we are just getting started! I must admit the start of my term as president has been filled with nervousness, fear, trepidation as well as excitement. I hope you have completed or updated your profile on the national website. This will keep you informed on what is happening nationally while watching us on our website and face book page and that will let you know what we are doing locally. We will have our first in a series of NAIW approved classes at our August meeting. It is on Stress Management which is appropriate for our economic times. Please join us at Dona Maria’s Tamales Restaurant, the third Wednesday of every month at 5:30pm. We are continuing to collect school supplies as well as socks, under garments and gently used sweaters and jackets for our sponsor school: Lois Craig Elementary School. Mr. Sesto, the principal, has said paper towels, hand sanitizer and Kleenex are also needed as teachers usually acquire theses out of their own expense. Project Sunshine was brought to us by Julie Nybakken from Orgill Singer. We will post their information and list of needs on the web sight, If you are interested in providing the needed support, please reach out to Julie. We have 39 members currently and want to grow! We know that times are tough , which is exactly why you should renew your membership or join us. Fellowship will keep you up to date on current information as well as provide priceless networking. Please join us for food and fun and BRING a FRIEND!!. Great place to see what the organization is about and meet new people. It will be held on 9/22/10 at 5:30 PM at the office of Orgill/Singer and Associates on Sahara Ave. between Durango and Cimmaron. Watch for the flyer in an upcoming email and on the web site. Save the date of October 23rd for our State meeting. We look forward to hearing what is new from National and Regional and enjoying a day of education. We are back in January with a renewed sense of commitment and camaraderie. I hope that everyone will enjoy our meetings as our emphasis this year will be on education, cooperation, community action and lots of networking opportunities, I hope to see you there!!!
