November 25, 2009 Happy Holidays !! It is hard to believe that we are close to the end of 2009. For those of us with January renewals, we know all too well how fast it comes! Of course to the rest of us, we know that Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa and New Years are about to hit us HEAD ON!!! What a great year it has been! We have grown our numbers to 42 members with great new ideas and enthusiasm; giving our seasoned members the pleasure of simply enjoying the festivities and the fellowship. I have talked to members across the country and the economy is hitting our association hard. I am grateful to those who are bringing new ideas. I hope those who have not been able to find the time to join us will take the time this next year to enjoy the fellowship. A good association is the blend of industries as well as levels of expertise. Our September Mixer was great! We had a number of young professionals attend who we are actively recruiting as new members as well as some old faces we had not seen in a while. We have new partners like Tupperware and Park Lane Jewelry who are sharing in their profits. Shopping is always good especially when it assists the association. Thank you so much to Ms. Lauri and her crew for making it such a wonderful event. October was a busy month. Mr Jason and Mr. Dave, along with fabulous friends provided the community with the recently required OSHA 40 class helping to spread out name and raise money . The State meeting at the Sahara Hotel was excellent! Ms. Lauri was able due, to the outstanding efforts of the Mr Jason and friends, to host an outstanding event. National Alliance provided the Ethics course that was outstanding. There was of course lots of participation and an excellent instructor! Ms Tish, RVP was able to see our association shine! Thank you so much Ms. Lauri! We also had our golf tournament at Black Mountain. It was apparent from the lunch I attended afterward that the golfers all had a marvelous time. The Scholarship Fund and 2013 Convention both benefit from the excellent job Ms. Kathleen, Ms. Adrienne and crew did! Thank you!! WOW! What a great job! It was also my pleasure to attend the Clark County School District Shining Star Awards Ceremony where our association was recognized for our longtime work with Lois Craig Elementary School. Thank you Ms. Sally and crew for keeping us in touch with the schools needs. Now November! What a great time we had at the Fall Festival! A beautiful day and FANTASTIC eats! The silent auction had 15 baskets, while there were two very full tables of homemade treats! The families from the neighboring softball fields also enjoyed the treats. Thank you so much to Ms. Dena and crew for making that happen! Great Day in the park for a picnic! In these times we see more and more folks not working. There were quite a few people at the park who had fallen on hard times and of course we always have more then we need. We were able to provide a hot meal to the folks at the end of the day and even leave some desserts. They were extremely surprised and grateful. Thanks again to all that helped with the event and then helped to serve. It was a FABULOUS day with a feel good ending. Remember we are dark in December but will be up and running with our monthly meetings in January. Remember, the second Wednesday of every month, Dona Maria’s Mexican Restaurant on Las Vegas Blvd and Charleston. The next meeting is January 13, 2010 at 5:30pm. I really hope to see you there. Best Wishes for the Holidays and 2010 In Fellowship,
Anne Davison
